Apparitions: Control Panel / Documents / Morel / Abadiânia.

2015. Mixed media: 3 slide projectors adapted for led lights, and control panel developed with arduino. Developed in the ocassion of 11th Red Bull Station Artistic Residency, International program, São Paulo, Brazil. From the projection of slides, three distinct narratives are presented at Apparitions: Control Panel / Documents / Morel / Abadiânia. A control panel controls randomly this sequence. Able to programming manual or automatic slide forward and reward modes, it can also change a retrofitted light, reducing or increasing the intensity.

Each projector is focused on a distinct collection of images. The first is a compilation of technical history images and the construction of the apparatus. The second it’s the artist's personal archive that have a phantasmatic aspect. Finally, what is presented in the third narrative, it’s the documentation of a visit to one of the most important centers based in the spiritualist practice in Brazil.

As a result of a research that has been developed in the last two years, this is a project that investigates concepts related to image; experiments related to the universe of the projected image technical languages; and studies that take into account the dimension of the invisibility, that in this case, has resulted in a deeply conceptual study about the Spiritism. By analyzing these three main points, it’s possible to notice a number of parallelisms. The vocabularies, as well as historical and geographical intersections, appear analogously several times in those fields.
